Our Outreach Program
In 2023, we launched our pilot Teenager Mentoring Programme to explore how The Frow Show could support, inspire and develop the next generation of performers, writers, technicians and theatre-makers in our community.
Building on the success of that programme, we are expanding our work with young people and creating opportunities for them to gain practical experience in every aspect of theatre production.
Participants learn a wide range of creative and technical skills, including performance, scriptwriting, lighting, sound, design, stage management, marketing, budgeting and front-of-house operations.
Most importantly, they have the opportunity to create and perform their own original work before a paying audience as part of The Frow Show preshow programme.
The experience is designed not only to nurture creativity, but also to build confidence, encourage teamwork and develop valuable skills that can lead to further education, employment and future careers in the creative industries.
We are particularly committed to making these opportunities available to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring that talent, enthusiasm and imagination are never limited by circumstance.

The 2026 Teenager Mentoring Programme
Building on the success of our pilot programme, the 2026 Teenager Mentoring Programme will offer young people the opportunity to work alongside experienced writers, performers, technicians and producers as part of The Frow Show team.
Participants will develop skills in writing, improvisation, performance, sound, lighting, production, marketing and stagecraft, while gaining first-hand experience of what it takes to bring a live show to the stage.
The programme will culminate in the creation and performance of original material as part of The Frow Show preshow, giving participants the rare opportunity to perform their own work before a live, paying audience.
By combining creativity, collaboration and practical experience, we hope to inspire the next generation of performers, writers and theatre-makers, while ensuring that live theatre continues to thrive in our community for many years to come.

Age UK
In 2023, The Frow Show partnered with Age UK to create an original production inspired by the experiences, memories and stories of older members of our community.
Through workshops and conversations, participants helped shape the material that eventually found its way onto the stage, creating a show that was both entertaining and deeply rooted in real lives and experiences.
The project brought together different generations, celebrated the importance of community and explored what it means to grow older in an increasingly uncertain world.
Most importantly, it demonstrated the power of theatre not simply to tell stories, but to create them together.
